Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe.
So before today I didn't know the story behind having a sixpence on your wedding day. Then on my way to a meeting at lunch Mindy, our school's librarian pulled me aside and said she had something for me. I thougt is was another book on the civil War or something but instead she pulled out a coin in a plastic case and a story to go with it. She explained that on her wedding day her grandfather gave her a sixpence to give her good luck and she wanted to pass the tradition on to me. I almost cried. How thoughtful she was, how special that she shared that with me and tried to make my special day just that much better. When people think about me, it makes me smile!
